High-Strength Steel Piling Pipe for Structural Foundation
Our Piling Pipes are heavy-duty structural components engineered to provide robust support for buildings, bridges, wharves, and offshore platforms. Manufactured to meet the rigorous ASTM A252 standard, these pipes are designed to withstand high axial loads and environmental stress.
-
Standard: ASTM A252 (Grades 1, 2, and 3).
-
Manufacturing Types: Seamless, Welded (ERW, LSAW, SSAW).
-
Key Features: High tensile strength, excellent weldability, and superior load-bearing capacity.
-
Applications: Deep foundations for bridges, skyscrapers, marine wharves, and offshore structures.
Description
1. Product Overview
Piling Pipe is a heavy-duty steel pipe used as a structural component for the support of buildings, bridges, and other structures. These pipes act as pillars to transfer the weight of the structure to a deeper, more stable layer of soil or rock. They are indispensable for deep foundation projects, especially in challenging geological conditions.
Our piling pipes are manufactured using high-quality steel and advanced welding or seamless processes to ensure maximum structural integrity and longevity under extreme pressure.
2. Manufacturing Types
Depending on the project requirements and dimensions, we provide several types of piling pipes:
- Seamless Piling Pipe: Best for high-pressure and critical structural applications.
- ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) Pipe: Cost-effective for small to medium diameters.
- LSAW (Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded) Pipe: Ideal for large diameters and thick-walled structural piles.
- SSAW (Spiral Submerged Arc Welded) Pipe: Excellent for extremely long piles and large-scale infrastructure.
3. Technical Standards: ASTM A252
We primarily supply piling pipes under the ASTM A252 standard, which is the standard specification for welded and seamless steel pipe piles. This covers nominal wall steel pipe piles of cylindrical shape and applies to pipe piles in which the steel cylinder acts as a permanent load-carrying member.
Tensile Requirements (ASTM A252)
| Properties | Grade 1 | Grade 2 | Grade 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tensile Strength, min (psi/MPa) | 50,000 (345) | 60,000 (415) | 66,000 (455) |
| Yield Strength, min (psi/MPa) | 30,000 (205) | 35,000 (240) | 45,000 (310) |
4. Dimensions & Tolerances
| Outer Diameter (O.D.) | Permissible variation: ± 1% from the specified O.D. |
| Wall Thickness (W.T.) | The minimum wall thickness at any point shall not be more than 12.5% under the nominal wall thickness specified. |
| Weight | The weight of any individual length of pipe shall not vary more than 15% over or 5% under the theoretical weight. |
5. Manufacturing Process
Our piling pipes undergo a series of precise manufacturing steps to ensure they meet structural safety standards. Below is the workflow for our automated production line:

6. Applications
Piling steel pipes are used in diverse infrastructure projects where the ground is not stable enough to support a heavy structure directly. Key applications include:
- Bridges: Supporting bridge piers and abutments.
- Buildings: Foundation for skyscrapers and large industrial plants.
- Marine Construction: Wharf construction, jetties, and dock facilities.
- Offshore Platforms: Providing stability for oil and gas rigs in marine environments.
