Description
1. Product Introduction
3LPP Coated Pipe is a multilayer coating system consisting of three functional components: a high-performance fusion bonded epoxy (FBE), followed by a copolymer adhesive, and an outer layer of polypropylene (PP). This system provides excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical protection.
While 3LPE (Polyethylene) is commonly used for standard temperatures, 3LPP is the superior choice for high-temperature environments. It is specifically designed for pipelines where the operating temperature exceeds the limits of polyethylene, typically handling 110°C to 140°C.
2. 3LPP Coating Layers Structure
The three-layer system ensures a permanent bond to the steel surface and a rugged shield against the environment:
- Layer 1: Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE): This initial layer provides excellent adhesion to the steel and outstanding chemical and cathodic disbondment resistance.
- Layer 2: Copolymer Adhesive: Acts as a bonding bridge, providing high chemical adhesion between the FBE primer and the top PP layer.
- Layer 3: Polypropylene (PP): The outermost layer provides superior mechanical protection against impact, abrasion, and moisture. It is particularly resistant to high soil stress and heat.
